McMaster and York have a long history, having faced each other many times over the past 10 years. Most recently, the Marauders and Lions battled in November in a tight four set match. It was McMaster who took the victory, winning three sets to one (24-26, 25-20, 25-20, 25-18). These teams also battled it out in a pre-season exhibition game, with McMaster winning three sets to none (25-17, 25-19, 25-23).

The eighth ranked Lions are coming off of back-to-back games against the Queen's Gaels, coming out with one win and one loss. In the first game, York was victorious beating the Gaels 3-2 (15-25, 25-23, 25-19, 20-25, 17-15) in a very tight game. Queen's came back with a vengeance on night two, sweeping the Lions in three sets (15-25, 14-25, 25-27). Currently 6-5, the Lions are ready to put up a fight against the Marauder women.

After facing the Lions, the Marauder women then travel to Waterloo, Ont. to face the Waterloo Warriors in a 6:00 PM game.

This is the first time that the Marauders and Warriors are meeting this season. McMaster last battled Waterloo during the 2021-22 regular season, facing each other twice. The Marauder women came out on top in the first match-up winning 3 sets to 2 in a very tight game (28-26, 25-14, 22-25, 20-25, 20-18). The teams met up for a second time in February 2022. In an extremely close game to five sets, it was ultimately the Warriors that took the victory (18-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-13, 4-15).

The third ranked Waterloo Warriors are currently 11-2 after back to back wins against the RMC Paladins. Waterloo dropped RMC in a quick three sets both Friday night (25-10, 25-7, 25-5), and Saturday night (25-11, 25-9, 25-18).

The Marauder women are currently 10-2 and are coming off of a solid weekend, after beating both Brock and Toronto. In Friday night's game, the maroon and grey beat the undefeated Brock Badgers in a tight five set game (25-20, 17-25, 25-23, 9-25, 15-13). McMaster then took on the Toronto Varsity Blues, taking the match in four sets (25-17, 17-25, 25-21, 25-14).
