TORONTO, Ont. - Holding the Lions to just 11 points in the third quarter, the McMaster Marauders women's basketball team secured a convincing 87-66 victory over the York Lions in the final contest of the semester.

Last trailing at the 2:48 mark of the first quarter, the Marauders controlled the game from there on out. McMaster outscored York in the final two frames, putting up 43-points while holding the Lions to just 28 points. The Marauders stuck to the game plan on offense and defense in the closing 20 minutes to get the win. The Marauders had 15 points off turnovers and 20 points off of the bench which propelled the maroon and grey to their sixth win of the OUA regular season.

The Lions scored first and led by as much as five in the opening quarter but the Marauders found their rhythm, going on an 8-2 run to take the lead with under three minutes to go. The visitors led 22-16 after 10 minutes of play.

McMaster continued the momentum into the second quarter, knocking down 47.1% of its shots from the field. The maroon and grey added three 3-pointers in the second to hold a 44-38 advantage at the break.
