HAMILTON, Ont. - With just one game remaining on the schedule, the McMaster Marauders have already locked in a playoff spot but whether that will be on the road or at home will be determined by the outcome of Sunday's contest. The maroon and grey have collected points from the last eight straight games and will look to earn an additional three against the Laurier Golden Hawks this afternoon. Kick-off is set for 1pm.
Wilfrid Laurier vs McMaster
Ron Joyce Stadium | Hamilton, Ont.
October 23rd, 2022 @ 1pm
The Golden Hawks and Marauders last met in 2019 with the maroon and grey securing the wins in both contests that season. McMaster sits in fourth position in the OUA West standings with 17 points and a .591 percentage. The Marauders have locked in a playoff spot and could host a first-round playoff game, dependent on the outcome of the regular season finale.
McMaster tied the York Lions at home two weeks ago in its last on-field competition.
Bryanna Caldwell (Tottenham, Ont.) is the leading goal scorer for the Marauders this season with four while goalkeeper,
Alexandra Mudie (Burlington, Ont.) has the third best save percentage in the league (.892).
Laurier (4-6-1) will look to end its season on a high note, having already been eliminated from the post-season.
Last Time Out
The Marauders' two contests with the Algoma Thunderbirds last weekend were cancelled due to COVID-19 precautions. McMaster is ready to get back on the field and defend home turf while trying to lock up a first-round home playoff game.
