The McMaster Marauders men's basketball team dominated the Algoma Thunderbirds in a 81-38 game.
After beating the Thunderbirds by 18 yesterday, the Marauders came back to do more damage.
Jordan Henry and Mike Demagus both led all scorers with 15 points a piece. Henry also put up 10 assists and two steals, while Demagus grabbed four steals and two rebounds.
The Marauders came out strong and immediately put Algoma where they wanted them. Early in the first quarter, the team set the pace for the remainder of the game, with Sefa Otchere knocking down a triple. From there, the squad went on a 21 - 8 run and never looked back.
Shooting 47.2% from the floor, the Marauders forced 29 turnovers picking up 30 points in the process creating havoc for Algoma's offense all night.
In the second quarter, the Maroon showed no mercy - knocking down 12-20 from the field goal range, 3-5 three pointers and 75% of their free throws. Holding Algoma to a mere six points, the team put away 30 in the quarter. Over 50% of which came from the 16-0 run the men had starting the quarter off.
The second half came with strong defense and keeping the Thunderbirds at bay. The Marauders nailed in the coffin with another 30 points in the second half to secure the victory.
The Marauders held the lead for 100% of the game - from the first three from Otchere to the last bucket from Tristan Lindo. The 43-point margin of victory is the most the team has seen this season. The Marauders are currently tied in the lead of the OUA West, with the win uping the record to 5-1.
