The No. 3 nationally ranked McMaster Marauders men's volleyball team took the Guelph Gryphons in four sets on Friday night 3-1 (25-12, 28-30, 25-20, 25-23).

In their second game of the season, the Marauders took the road to Guelph for the Gryphons home opener and kept their undefeated record going.

McMaster opened the night strong, crushing the Gryphons 25-12 in the first set, however, Guelph matched McMaster's energy in the second set and took an early lead. Momentum continued for both strong teams, but, after being down 21-16, the Marauders came back to push the close second set past 25 points. Eventually, the Gryphons took it 30-28, making the match even.

The Marauders came into the third set determined to win and kept the match tight, but a point streak at the end of the game had McMaster walking away with a 25-20 win. Up by one, the Marauders needed one more set to win the game and they proved that they deserved it with an impressive comeback.

After trailing Guelph by a couple points for the majority of the set, McMaster came back from a 20-14 score to defeat the Gryphons 25-23 and take the match.

Once again, the Marauders dominated on offence with
Sam Cooper taking 16 of his team's 56 kills. A front row barricade for McMaster,
Tyler Pavelic made six blocks against the Gryphons.

Some incredible back row action was also made by McMaster's
Robbie Fujisawa, who dished out 49 assists and 10 digs.

Now 2-0 on the season, the Marauders currently sit in first-place in the OUA West division. look to take on the Brock Badgers back-to-back on Nov. 19 in St Catharines, followed by Nov. 21 at home in Burridge Gym.
