Struggling to close the game out in the final frame, the McMaster Marauders men's basketball team fell on the road to the Laurier Golden Hawks 103-94 on Wednesday night.
With only a point separating the two sides heading into the fourth quarter, the two teams struggled to build a lead in this matchup that witnessed 10 ties, and nine lead changes.
With the Marauders up 70-69 after three quarters, the Golden Hawks efficient shooting behind the arc rewrote the script and changed the outcome of the game.
Going 8-for-14 from three-point territory, the Golden Hawks shot 57.1% from deep, while the Marauders traded layups for triples as the game winded down.
Bench scoring dictated much of the game for the Golden Hawks who outscored the visiting Marauders 43 to 16 in the category.
Leading the way for the maroon was
Jordan Henry who knocked down 11-19 field goals for a game-high 32 points in 36 minutes of action.
Brandon Bernard provided a spark off the bench going 4-4 from the free-throw line for seven points to go with eight rebounds.
NEXT UP: The Marauders continue their road trip with a game on Friday against the Waterloo Warriors scheduled for 8pm.
