MARAUDERS OPEN 401 ROAD SWING WITH LOSS TO NO. 10 MUSTANGS

LONDON, Ont. - The McMaster Marauders opened their two-game road trip with a three-set loss (20-25, 25-27, 20-25) to the No. 10 Western Mustangs Friday night.

Despite holding late leads in all three frames, the Marauders (8-10) struggled to close out sets while hitting just .107 on the night. McMaster committed 20 attack errors to Western's 12 and didn't seem to have an answer for their balanced scoring threat. McMaster managed to outperform the Mustangs at the net with seven total blocks on the night.

With the loss, McMaster has now dropped its last five contests dating back to January 26.

Rebecca Maxwell had a notable showing as the third-year setter finished with 11 kills (3.66/set) to go along with an ace and nine digs.

Sophomore Paige Entwistle added seven kills on 16 attacks while Hailey Kranics chipped in three blocks and a service ace.

The Mustangs (12-6) rode a 14-kill performance from Melissa Langegger who paced Western to a .226 clip.

NEXT UP: With the post-season out of reach, McMaster will return to the court for the final time this season tomorrow night in Windsor. The Lancers are coming off a 3-2 win over the Brock Badgers and have now won seven of their last nine matches. Game time inside the St. Denis Centre is set for 6 p.m. and can be seen live on OUA.tv.
