HENRY BREAKS SINGLE-GAME SCORING RECORD IN LOSS TO NO. 9 RAMS

Box Score After a slow defensive start, the McMaster Marauders men's basketball team struggled to contain the No. 9 Ryerson Rams, ultimately falling 116-95 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre on Wednesday night.

Scoring was not an issue for the visitors, with second-year guard Jordan Henry going for a Marauders single-game record 46 points, shooting 14-25 from the floor, and 7-11 from behind the arc. Henry also snatched a career-high seven steals in 40 minutes of action.

His performance breaks a 51 year-old record previously held by Jim Noble, who scored 40 points against the Toronto Varsity Blues in 1969.

The Rams, who went on to score a program-high 116 points shot an efficient 62% from field goal range, and a blistering 40% from the three-point line. Despite committing 23 turnovers compared to the Marauders 17, nothing seemed to slow them down.

With the score tied at one point, the Rams never lost the lead throughout but the Marauders held in tight, ending the game with a 34-point fourth quarter.

With the loss the Marauders are now tied for third in the OUA Central division with the Brock Badgers on a 10-7 record.

NEXT UP: The Marauders return home this Saturday to take on the York Lions for their final game at the Burridge Gym for the regular season. Tip-off is scheduled for 3pm.
