It was a tough day for the McMaster Marauders women's volleyball team, who fell to the No. 9 nationally ranked Brock Badgers 3-0, in St. Catharines, Ont., on Sunday afternoon.

Falling straight sets (12-25, 17-25, 19-25), the Marauders struggled to get a handle on the Badgers pace, committing 19 errors compared to the home teams 10.

The Badgers excelled on the offensive front, converting on .325 of all attacks, compared to the Marauders .038.

First-year outside hitter Marina Vesovic led her team with eight kills on 21 total attacks for 8.5 points, while Hailey Kranics had a repeat performance from last night, contributing 4 blocks.

Nikolina Malic dished out 13 assists, as well as three service aces.

With the season winding down, the Marauders are now in fourth-place in the OUA West division with 16 points – only two points back from a three-way tie for the lead.

NEXT UP: The Marauders will get an opportunity to exact revenge next week as they host the Badgers at the Burridge Gym for a rematch on Friday. Game time is scheduled for 6pm.
