History

The Marauders came away with the win against the Gaels in convincing fashion last season, winning 86-66 at the Burridge Gym. Sarah Gates had a great shooting night, going 8-of-13 from the floor, and connecting on 3-of-4 from deep. Mia Spadafora was perfect in 14 minutes of action, knocking 2-of-2 three-pointers for eight points off the bench. The win last season was their first over the Gaels since 2016.

Meanwhile, competing in their inaugural season, the Ontario Ridgebacks come to the Burridge Gym to take on the Marauders for the first time in OUA history.

What's Good

McMaster
  • The Marauders split their games last week, dropping the then No. 6 ranked Windsor Lancers 70-52, but fell to the now No. 8 ranked Western Mustangs narrowly, 72-69.
  • The Marauders connected on 10 three-pointers against the Lancers, the second most this season, and shot an average 34.9% across both games, their best average over back-to-back games.
  • The biggest benefit of shooting at a higher percent is that the Marauders have taken the third most attempts per game, launching 28.1 three-pointers per game.

Queen's
  • The Gaels are coming off a big weekend, falling to the No. 3 Ottawa Gee-Gees on the road 81-71, but came away with an upset over the No. 5 Carleton Ravens 80-75.
  • Featuring a quick offence on the transition which has enabled them to draw fouls, and head to the charity stripe, the Gaels lead the league in free-throws made per game with 13.8.
  • Equally as reactive on the defensive end, the Gaels also lead the OUA in steals, snatching 13.1 per game.
Ontario Tech
  • The Ridgebacks come into this weekend following a pair of tough losses versus some of the nation's best, falling to the Ravens 85-32, and Gee-Gees 101-34.
  • Despite the slow start to their season, the Ridgebacks have found success by getting teams into foul trouble. The team leads the OUA in free-throw attempts, getting to the line 21.8 times per game.
  • Before making their way to the Burridge Gym, the Ridgebacks will take on the No. 9 Brock Badgers in St. Catharines, Ont. a day prior.
