Women's Soccer: Marauders Complete Six-Point Weekend with 2-1 Win over Golden Hawks

McMaster found the back of the net seven times in two days

Offence continued to flow for the Marauders Sunday, who potted two goals on the road to pave the way to a second victory in as many days.

McMaster improved to 2-0 on the young OUA season with a 2-1 win over Laurier in Waterloo, completing a six-point weekend with the help of a whopping tally of seven goals.

Veteran midfielder Hannah Chau-Stacey opened the scoring for the Marauders from a set piece, curling a laid off free kick from Carling Goold away and into the top corner of the Golden Hawks goal, with keeper Stephanie Brooks looking on helplessly in the 38th minute.

She was joined on the scoresheet by targetwoman Lindsay Bosveld in the 59th, who doubled McMaster's lead with her first goal of the campaign and provided a crucial measure of insurance for the visitors.

That cushion became useful when Laurier's Gagan Parhar struck in the 69th minute to reduce the deficit to one, with McMaster ultimately able to hold the hosts at bay and secure the full three points on the day.

NEXT UP: McMaster heads back out on the road on Thursday, September 5, with a trip to North York to battle the 0-1 York Lions. That match will get underway at 6:00 p.m. and be webcast live on OUA.tv.
