Women's Soccer: McMaster Reels Off Fourth Straight Win, Beats Windsor 2-0

The Marauders pulled into a tie for third in the OUA West standings with Friday’s win

Continuing in their bid to finish the OUA's regular season strongly, the Marauders won their fourth match on the trot Friday by bagging a pair of goals and holding the fort in Windsor.

Veteran forward Ally Riganelli broke the deadlock in the 10th minute, while Megan Mamela scored her third goal in the past four matches to put the result beyond doubt in the 90th, as McMaster grabbed a 2-0 win over Windsor to sweep the season series between the two teams.

More importantly, the Marauders improved to 7-4-1 and kept pressure on the third spot in the OUA West division by moving into a tie with the York Lions on 22 points. Mac also nudged within three points of the Guelph Gryphons, who currently sit second, and will meet them in the penultimate match of their season in Guelph on Friday, October 18.

Between McMaster's posts, Julianna Hifawi stopped all five shots she faced in the win to record her second straight clean sheet.

NEXT UP: The Marauders conclude their OUA season on October 18 and 20, travelling to Guelph to battle the Gryphons on Friday before returning home to Ron Joyce Stadium to play host to the Brock Badgers on Sunday.
