Men's Rugby: McMaster Pulls Away in Second Half for 48-17 Win over Western

Jamie McNaughton and Mitch Richardson both had a pair of tries in the road win

Separated from the Mustangs by just a single try through a half hour, the Marauders found a new gear, and five more tries, in the last 50 minutes of Saturday game in London.

The veteran pair of Jamie McNaughton and Mitch Richardson had two tries apiece, while Sean Lau, Owen Sheppard and Eric Jackson also crossed the try line in a 48-17 McMaster win.

Spreading the kicking duties around the lineup, the Marauders got converts from McNaughton, Tyler Gagne and Cole Brown, as McNaughton concluded the afternoon with a game high 12 points.

With the win, McMaster improved to 3-1 on the season, and sits in a tie for third in the OUA standings with Wilfrid Laurier.

NEXT UP: The Marauders return home to Back 10 Field for a matinee encounter with the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, September 29. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
