Men's Soccer: Green's Late Goal Pushes 10-Man McMaster Past Brock 1-0

Anton Buretic picked up a second yellow card inside the first minute of the second half Saturday

The first goal of Miles Green's McMaster career came at the perfect moment Saturday, as the Marauders delivered a heartbreaking defeat to the Brock Badgers in St. Catharines.

Despite being down a man for the vast majority of the second half, after defender Anton Buretic picked up his second yellow card of the afternoon in the 46th minute, Green's injury time goal led McMaster to a 1-0 win over Brock.

With the result, the Marauders moved to 6-3-3 on the season and currently hold third place in the OUA West standings, with points in three consecutive games.

The first-year defender Green made his fifth appearance off the bench for McMaster count Saturday, burying his only shooting attempt of the afternoon for the game's only goal moments before the final whistle.

Goalkeeper Tristan Joyce turned aside all eight shots he faced to earn his third clean sheet of the season.

NEXT UP: McMaster closes out the Thanksgiving weekend road trip Sunday afternoon in Waterloo, when the Marauders complete the season series against the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks with a 3:15 p.m. matinee. The two teams previously met on the opening day of the season at Ron Joyce Stadium, with the Marauders winning 2-1.
