The McMaster women's basketball team will face a very stiff test as it opens the non-conference schedule at home on Sunday, October 14th. Making the trip to Hamilton will be the defending U SPORTS National Champions from McGill University. Tip-off is set for
12-noon in the Burridge Gym.
The Marauders have been training, but have not played any games since returning from the BLIA Cup Tournament in Taiwan, so the clash with the McGill Martlets will be the team's return to competition.
McMaster will be led by seniors and co-captains: Jelena Mamic , Hilary Hanaka, and Linnaea Harper. However, Coach Theresa Burns is confident her veteran squad can compete on the national stage and playing the defending champs will be a challenge.
McGill coach Ryan Thorne also has a solid corps returning players, including 6-4 post player Alex Kiss-Rusk, who will make life tough for Marauder post players Olivia Wilson and Clare Sharkey.
