Women's Volleyball: Sorensen Leads Mac Past York in Four

Box Score With Maicee Sorensen leading the way, the Marauders powered back into the win column on the road Friday. Outside of a wobble in the second set, Mac handily outplayed the York Lions en route to a four-set win.

Set scores were 25-14, 21-25, 25-15 and 25-15 for the Marauders, who improved to 15-3 with the result and vaulted back into a tie with the Western Mustangs for the top spot in the OUA West, with just one more game to play in the regular season.

Sorensen was the star of the show, hitting 56 per cent on the night with 10 kills on 16 attempts with just a single error, while adding two aces and two and a half blocks for a game high of 14.5 points. Taylor Brisebois (13.5), Rebecca Steckle (12.5) and Rachel Woock (11) also hit double digits in the point column, while the rookie Woock led Mac with 16 digs.

Challenging the Lions from the service line, the Marauders had a team total of 15 aces in the win, while holding their opponents to just six per cent hitting as a team.

Mac continues their season-ending road trip with a visit to North Bay on Saturday, where they will take on the Nipissing Lakers.
