Men's Rugby: Marauders Blanked by Mustangs in London

McMaster got 2015 off to a hot start with two consecutive wins, but that roll slowed somewhat on Saturday as the Marauders fell to the Western Mustangs 24-0 in London.

With the loss, the Marauders fell to 2-1, and now sit third in the OUA standings, while the Mustangs are one of two undefeated teams in the conference alongside the similarly 3-0 Guelph Gryphons.

Western scored regularly in the opening half, with tries from Connor Offut, Michael Major and Mike Turnbull in the first 40 minutes. The visiting Marauders buckled down defensively in the second, allowing only a single try to Mark Denton, who finished as Western's leading scorer with a total of 9 points.

The Marauders will have an opportunity to bounce back on home soil, when they return to Back 10 Field for a game against the Laurier Golden Hawks as part of Homecoming on Saturday, September 26.
