Box Score The McMaster men's basketball team went to Toronto on Saturday afternoon and used a solid team performance to defeat the Varsity Blues 85-63.

The tone for this one was set early as substitutes Troy Joseph and Connor Gilmore came off the bench in the opening stanza and hit three-point shots on their first attempts. 

By the time the teams made it to halftime, McMaster had gotten three-point goals from Trevon McNeil, Adam Presutti, Dave McCulloch, Aaron Redpath, and Lazar Kojovic, in what was an impressive display of long-range team shooting.

McMaster held a 23-13 lead at the end of the first quarter and rode the barrage of treys to a 49-24 lead at the half.

Playing with a commanding lead allowed Coach Amos Connolly to spread out the playing time in the second half and the Marauders were able to maintain a big margin for the rest of the game.

Individually,  Rohan Boney was a beast in the third quarter with 10 points and in the final period, Redpath knocked down consecutive three-pointers to bump Mac up to its biggest lead at 81-53.

A late Toronto push got the deficit down but the outcome of the game was never in doubt, and the Marauders closed out a big win on the road.  Boney finished with 18 to lead the Marauders, while Redpath had 14, Taylor Black had a double-double of 11 points and 12 boards, and Presutti chipped in 10.   Toronto was led by Devin Johnson with a game-high 24.

Commenting after the game to OUA.tv, Coach Connolly said he was pleased to finish the road part of the schedule with a win, but not very happy the Marauders gave up 39 second-half points and there were things to improve.

The Marauders made 11 of 30 from beyond the arc for the game, cooling off some in the second half.

McMaster is now 12-3 in the OUA and will play the rest of the schedule at home, starting with a game versus Queen's on Saturday, February 7th at 2 p.m.
