The McMaster women's basketball team dropped a 71-50 decision to the nation's top-ranked team, the Windsor Lancers, Saturday night in Windsor.
Some strong transition play in the first half helped the Marauders stay close to the Lancers and at halftime the score was 36-30 for the home side.
The second half saw McMaster's shooting touch turn icy and the defending champion Lancers were methodical in building up their advantage.
McMaster only made 37% of its field-goal attempts and failed to make a three-point basket for the first time this season, going 0 for 11 from beyond the arc.
Clare Kenney was the top scorer for the Marauders with 14 points, while Rachael Holmes chipped in 10. Windsor's Korissa Williams led four Lancers in double figures with a game-high 18.
The Marauders will head into the Exam/Holiday break with a record of 6 and 2, and in first-place in the OUA Central division.
