MEN'S BASKETBALL GETS BIG WIN IN WINDSOR

In a match-up of top-five teams, the McMaster men's basketball team used a balanced attack to defeat the Windsor Lancers 84-72 in Windsor on Saturday night.

The Lancers jumped out to the early lead and were in front 23-18 after one quarter.   McMaster turned the tables in the second stanza, outscoring the home team by 26-17 to take a 44-40 lead into the intermission.

The third quarter saw Windsor shave a point off the McMaster margin, and heading into the final quarter the Maroon held a slim 62-59 lead.

In the fourth, McMaster got back-to-back treys from Aaron Redpath to gain a slightly bigger cushion.  Unable to close the gap, the Lancers were forced to foul in the last two minutes and the Marauders were solid from the charity stripe to close out the final 12-point victory.

Redpath led the Marauders with 21 points off the bench, while all five McMaster starters finished with double digits in points.  Joe Rocca had 17, Adam Presutti 13, and Taylor Black, Leon Alexander and Rohan Boney all scored 10.   Windsor's Rotimi Osuntola finished with a game-high 28.

To win in Windsor was huge for the Marauders, and under the new OUA playoff structure, this victory could be a big factor in the final standings.

McMaster enters the Exam/Holiday break with a 6 and 2 record, having won six straight games, and sitting in first place in the OUA Central.
