CHIAROT PASSES SMITH ON SCORING LIST IN LOSS TO MUSTANGS

London, Ont. - Taylor Chiarot hit a three pointer with just under two minutes left in the game to pass Taylor Smith on the all-time McMaster scoring list in a 77-70 loss to  Western University Wednesday night in London. Chiarot scored 24 points against the Mustangs to increase her career total to 1272 points in confrence play. Smith previously held the record at 1270.  

In the first quarter, the Mustangs built up a large lead, outscoring the Marauders 31-14. The Marauders would outscore the Mustangs in every other quarter of the game, but it wouldn't be enough to overtake the lead from the opening quarter of the game. McMaster would be defeated by Western 77-70.

Chiarot's 24 points were accompanied by nine rebounds. Hailey Milligan earned the double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, point guard Vanessa Bonomo scored 13 and Liz Burns added another 12 points and six rebounds for McMaster.

Western's Katelyn Leddy had a game-high 25 points and 12 rebounds. Also hitting double-digit points for the Mustangs was Laura Daily wil 14, Lacey Knox with 13 and Rebecca Moss with 12 more.

The Marauders hold a 10-11 record, good for fifth in the OUA West with just one game to go. They host the Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday at noon in Burridge Gymnasium.
