MARAUDERS FALL SHORT TO GAELS

Kingston, Ont. - The Gaels (4-1) dominated the McMaster Marauders (2-3) in OUA basketball action Friday night at the ARC with a final score of 94-65.

The Gaels had a huge night offensively. The team came out firing, with an impressive 29 point first quarter giving them a comfortable early lead. In the second quarter they scored 20, bringing their total only one point shy of a 50 point half. The Gaels were excellent from everywhere on the floor, shooting 58 percent in field goals and three pointers at the half. Defensively Queen's limited the Marauders, who were held under 30 points in the half.

The second half  followed suit with the first. The Gaels scored 45 points, holding McMaster to 36. The Gaels continued to hit from beyond the ARC as their percentage went to 63.

Vanessa Bonomo (Dundas, Ont.) led the Mauraders with 13 points.

Waterloo, Ont. native Rachael Urosevic led the charge for the Gaels with 17 points including four three pointers on four for seven shooting. Paige Robinson of Calgary and Brittany Moore of Hannon, Ont. added 14 points apiece. First year Kingston, Ont. native Jenny Wright hauled in seven rebounds off the bench to lead all Gaels.

The Marauders take on the RMC Paladins Saturday night at 6:00 p.m.
