McMaster’s third-year All-Canadian picked up where he left off a week earlier as the U SPORTS no. 1-ranked Marauders headed across the border to Chicago for Saturday’s Loyola Lakefront Invitational.

After leading Mac to gold at Western, Turek produced another exceptional run to finish just three tenths of a second back of the individual winner and complete the eight kilometre race in 24:56.69. His silver-medal-winning effort paced Mac’s leading three-man pack, with second-year Andrew Davies following in third and third-year Alex Drover fourth to propel the Marauders to the team title against an NCAA field.

Mac ended the afternoon with a team total of 45 points and led their nearest opposition, the Wisconsin Badgers, by 20.
