The Marauders made a statement on the opening weekend of the OUA season, signalling their intent as one of the top teams in the West division with a pair of wins and a total of seven goals in two days.
Chau-Stacey, who plays the crucial holding role in the centre of the Marauders midfield, was an instrumental part of those wins, playing 70 minutes of McMaster’s 5-1, season-opening win over Windsor at Ron Joyce Stadium Saturday.
The fourth-year Life Sciences major from North York, Ont. was even better Sunday, playing the full 90 minutes for the Marauders and notching a highlight reel-worthy goal in the process. She got the visitors on the scoresheet in the 38th minute by curling a long-range free kick into the top corner, helping her team ultimately snag a 2-1 win over the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo.
