Answering the bell in a do-or-die match with much of the Marauders offence struggling to find its usually dominant level, second-year middle Bennett Swan provided efficiency on the attack, a steady hand from the service line and timely blocking in Mac’s four-set quarter-final win over York Saturday.

The Oakville, Ont. native knocked down eight kills on 16 attempts versus just two errors (.375), and added an ace and a pair of solo blocks for 11 points. He was McMaster’s most efficient hitter, and changed the complexion of his team’s offence as setter David Doty searched for options.
