The second-year Mechatronics Engineering & Management major made the most of his return to competition Saturday, leading the Marauders to team silver at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational in Chicago by finishing the eight kilometre course in 24:20 and scoring seventh overall.
His performance saw Turek finish a full 21 seconds ahead of teammate Sergio Raez Villanueva, and achieve the fastest-ever time by a Marauder at the event. With his help, the Marauders scored 115 points as a group, finishing second ahead of NCAA Division I programs Nebraska, Arizona and Texas A&M.
