The second-year wrestler from Kingston, Ont. backed up a silver-medal-winning performance at the OUA Championships by climbing the podium in the 76kg weight class at the U SPORTS Championships in Sault Ste. Marie Sunday.

Zahra rebounded from a loss in the preliminary stages to set up a bronze-medal match against Western’s Brayden Ambo, and won out to claim his first medal at the national level as a Marauder.

His was McMaster’s lone medal at the tournament, as the Marauders men ultimately placed seventh as a group.
