Helping the Marauders men overcome a bevy of injuries to surprise the field and repeat as OUA silver medalists for a third consecutive year Sunday, the first-year wrestler from Mississauga, Ont. provided McMaster’s highlight performance.

The Social Sciences major defeated Brock’s Kingston Wong and Algoma’s Brody Collison to win gold in the 54kg weight class at the OUA Championships in St. Catharines, bringing Mac their only gold medal of the event.

Thanarajah was recognized as the OUA Male Rookie of the Year at the conclusion of the tournament for his achievement.
