Having shown his capability to produce incredible stretches of play this season, the third-year guard pieced together his most effective game yet in Thunder Bay.
The Sociology major began McMaster’s weekend series against Lakehead well Friday, with 22 points on 6-18 shooting, while adding six boards and three steals as the Marauders secured a 90-85 win.
But it was his work in a showdown with Lakehead’s Nahshon Hurst Saturday that truly elevated Seward above the pack.
He poured in a career high 32 points, hitting 11 of 26 shots from the field and five of 16 from three-point range, to account for over a third of McMaster’s scoring in a 94-88 win. Adding two assists and three steals for good measure, Seward achieved the second-highest point total from a Marauder in the 2017-18 season.
With their pair of weekend wins, the Marauders improved to 6-14 in the OUA this season, and vaulted the Guelph Gryphons to take over sole possession of the sixth and final playoff spot in the OUA West division.
