McMaster’s offence found its rhythm on the ground Saturday, in a 32-2 thumping of the York Lions in front of a boisterous Homecoming crowd at Ron Joyce Stadium, and Lyons was the leading light in that effort.
The third-year Labour Studies major rumbled for 181 yards and a touchdown in the win, averaging 7.2 yards per carry as he increasingly wore down the Lions in the second half. His largest play of the afternoon came in the fourth quarter, when Lyons gashed York for 36 yards.
He was named as the Homecoming MVP for his efforts in the win.
