Showcasing the skills that earned him the OUA West Player of the Year Award on Thursday, the McMaster middle was thoroughly dominant as McMaster swept their way to a fifth consecutive Forsyth Trophy as OUA champions this past weekend.
 
Demyanenko opened his account at the Final Four, hosted at McMaster’s Burridge Gym, by converting on 11 of 14 hitting attempts without an error (78.6 per cent) and adding a block and a half to be named Mac’s Player of the Match in Friday’s sweep of the Ryerson Rams.
 
He followed with another stellar performance in Saturday’s final, killing six of seven attempts versus a single error (71.4 per cent) and notching 4.5 blocks for a match high of 10.5 points, as McMaster defeated the Waterloo Warriors in straight sets to match the longest dynasty in OUA men’s volleyball history.
