The veteran Marauder wrestler had a strong showing in the team's final senior tuneup before the OUA Championships, winning the 61kg weight class at the Western Open on Saturday. Buckle notched wins over York's Sebastian Galzote and Western's Nick Xiang by identical 10-0 scores to set up a confrontation in the divisional final with Shawn Olsabeck of Eastern Michigan. In that match, Olsabeck nearly pinned Buckle, before the Marauder recovered to win on technical superiority by a 14-4 score.
