WATERLOO, Ont. —The McMaster Marauders (3-4-0) were looking to bounce back from their tough 61-26 loss on homecoming as they visited the 0-7 Waterloo Warriors on Friday.
The Warriors put together the first scoring drive of the game with a touchdown six minutes into the game, making it 7-0 Warriors. After the Warriors added another field goal, the Marauders drove down the field with a 12-play, 75-yard drive that was capped off with a
Lucas Barresi (Hamilton, Ont.) rushing touchdown, his seventh rushing touchdown of the year.Barresi's score cut into the Warriors' lead making it 10-7.
Michael Horvat (Hamilton, Ont.) hits a 47-yard field goal tying the game at ten apiece. The Marauders would put together a late drive, culminating in another Horvat field goal, netting them the 13-10 lead at halftime.
Directly out of half-time, the Marauders and Warriors would trade touchdowns. Firstly, the Warriors scored on their first drive out of half, but the Marauders quickly rebounded with a 67-yard Touchdown pass from
Keagan Hall (Burlington, Ont.) to
James Priestner (Burlington, Ont.) restoring the lead at 20-17. The Marauders would add a single point for a rouge on the ensuing kick.
Waterloo would put up a 12-play drive that resulted in a touchdown, giving the Warriors a 24-21 lead. A Horvat field goal and
Micah Duchene (Brantford Ont.) rushing touchdown gives the Marauders the 31-24 lead. The Warriors would respond with a touchdown, evening the score once again and bringing the game to overtime.
The Marauders started with the ball and would put together a five-play, 22-yard drive leading to Horvat's 20-yard field goal. The Marauders' defense would hold up and the Warriors would miss their game-tying field goal bid ending the game with a McMaster win.
