Marauders Fall in Close 1-0 Match at York

TORONTO – The Marauders lost a tough 1-0 battle to the York Lions on Sunday evening on the road. Coming off a close 1-0 home game where the Lions edged past the Marauders, York pulled off another tight win in the last few minutes of Sunday's game.

The Marauders started strong on their offense, fighting for redemption after their face off against York on Friday night. McMaster's Joseph Guindy managed to get the first shot of the game, but it wasn't long before the Lions gained momentum. York held the play in the Marauder's end with three corner kicks and three shots, but goalie Ethan Cagalj held them off. McMaster was able to get one more shot off before the end of the first half of the game, where McMaster held York 0-0.

McMaster was able to find the first shot in the second half, but York's goalie was strong in net, making the save. The teams went back and forth with their offense, both playing well defensively to keep the score at zero. With less than three minutes left in the game, York managed to score off a penalty kick, bringing the score to 1-0. The Marauders put up a well fought battle, but ultimately came up short as York edged them out.
