Three days after a difficult offensive night in North York, the Marauders demonstrated continued struggles in the final third Sunday to suffer their second consecutive loss.

McMaster (2-2) was held off the scoresheet for a second straight game, while Western improved to 4-0 on the season and snapped up all three points on offer thanks to Hannah Vickers' 69th-minute strike at Ron Joyce Stadium.

The Marauders were shut out for a second consecutive game, after opening their season with a pair of wins and a total of seven goals in their first two appearances of 2019.

Sunday's was a deserved victory for Western, which directed a total of nine shots toward the McMaster goal and forced four saves from Mac goalkeeper Juliana Hifawi

Possession shaded in favour of the undefeated visitors, who were unable to craft a convincing scoring chance until Vickers' lone goal midway through the second half.

Substitute Maddy Skinner was able to take control of the ball along the end line and successfully square for Vickers, who nudged a short-range effort past Hifawi at the near post.

Despite their urgency to claw back a goal, and salvage at least one point from their week of conference play, the Marauders were unable to seriously challenge the Mustangs goal, and forced only a single save from keeper Megan Girardi before full time.
