Playing one of their fiercest division rivals, the Marauders came out on the losing end of a back-and-forth, five-set affair on Saturday. McMaster drew level after four, but ultimately fell to Guelph 3-2 (25-22, 23-25, 19-25, 25-21, 14-16).
Taylor Brisebois had a stellar individual game, scoring a game high of 21.5 points including 14 kills, three aces and 4.5 blocks, while outside Joanna Jedrzejewska equalled her kill total in a 16-point performance.
Starting her first game of the season in the libero spot, Carly Heath had 26 digs, while rookie setter Michelle Chelladurai led the match with 41 assists.
McMaster's three-game road swing continues on Halloween, when the Marauders travel to St. Catharines to take on the Brock Badgers.
