BOIAGO AND VAN SCHEPEN NAMED PITA PIT ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Derek Van Schepen

The second-year runner provided one of McMaster's two gold medals at the Don Wright Invitational in London on Saturday, and the lone victory for the men's team. He crossed the line first in the 1500m event, beating out the Mustangs Phil Parrot-Migas for the top spot with a time of 4.02:40. Van Schepen's performance was the highlight of a strong day for the Marauder long-distance group in McMaster's second competition of the indoor track season.

DANIELLE BOIAGO

Third-year guard Danielle Boiago had a strong weekend as the McMaster women's basketball team swept a pair of road games in northern Ontario on the weekend.

A Hamilton native, Boiago scored 24 points to lead McMaster to a 91-60 win at Laurentian, that snapped a two-game losing streak.  She added 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals and scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to blow the game open and help McMaster secure the decisive win.

In the following night's game at Nipissing University, Boiago was once again the top Marauder shooter with 22 points as McMaster defeated the Lakers 86-34.  Her stat line also included 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals as she played a strong overall floor game to get her team back in the win column.
