HAMILTON - The Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) has announced the league's annual Lax Shack Award winners as selected by vote of the CUFLA coaches.

McMaster Coaches, Ed Comeau & Jason Tallevi were named Coaching Staff of the Year and Carter Williams was selected as the Rookie of the Year.

Coaches Comeau and Tellevi guided the Marauders to a Cinderella season. In the Baggataway Cup qualifying game, McMaster stunned the defending national champions from the University of Guelph, a team featuring six All-Canadians.

With the win, McMaster advanced to the Baggataway Cup for the first time since 1992.

In the CUFLA semifinal, McMaster knocked off Trent University, the top seed from the east featuring three All-Canadians including the league's Most Valuable Player (MVP), Outstanding Midfielder and Goaltender.

In the championship game, McMaster matched up against undefeated (13-0) Brock University. McMaster matched the Badgers all afternoon, but lost 12-11 in a nail biter to earn a silver medal.

Ed Comeau is also the head coach and general manager of the Orlando Titans of the National Lacrosse League (NLL).

Carter Williams is a native of Calgary, Alberta who attended high school in Scottsdale, Arizona and played for Team Arizona and the Arizona Starz club. He led McMaster in scoring with 22 goals and 10 assists this season. Williams also led all league rookies in points and was named a CUFLA All-Canadian.

Shawn Moloney, a native of Peterborough, Ontario, was selected as the 2010 Outstanding Graduating Player. Mahoney anchored McMasters defense in 2009 and always guarded the opponents top attackman.  Mahoney has been a leader and team captain for the past four years, and was named an All-Canadian in 2007.

McMaster will report to training camp in September of 2010.
