Playing during one of the most prolific five years of McMaster women's basketball, Taylor Smith was foundational in much of the success those Marauder teams enjoyed. Making the OUA all-Rookie team in her first season, Smith, now Jones, was remarkably named to the OUA second team as she helped steer the Marauders to an OUA Championship in just her freshman year. She would go on to make the OUA all-star list on three more occasions, all first-team selections, eventually capturing a second OUA banner in her third year. The Marauders went on to secure bronze later that season – their highest finish in program history at the time.
 
An OUA all-Rookie team member, OUA second-team all-star, three-time OUA first-team all-star, a two-time OUA champion and CIS bronze medallist, as well as a Therese Quigley Female Athlete of the Year finalist.
