McMaster University Athletics

A record-setting wide receiver for the Marauders, Ryan Janzen, helped the football program grow from an also-ran into a national contender.  Janzen was a four-time OUA All-Star and a two-time CIS All-Canadian over his five varsity seasons.  In 2000, he was a key member of McMaster’s first-ever Yates Cup OUA Championship team.  Originally from Port Elgin, he graduated as the OUA and CIS all-time leader in receiving yards for a career, and as the OUA leader for receiving yards in a season. 

Recognized as a member of the Marauder Team of the Decade for the 1990’s, Janzen was also named to McMaster’s Football Team of the Century from 1900 to 1999.
