The first varsity volleyball player to be named to the McMaster Athletic Hall of Fame, Peter Preocanin, was a team stalwart over his five-year varsity career. While playing for the Maroon from 1987 to 1992, Preocanin became the first Marauder to be named an OUA All-Star five times. He led McMaster to the OUA West division title in 1991 and the program’s first OUA Championship in 1992, which were also the first years that McMaster qualified to play in the national championship tournament.
A Hamilton native and graduate of Hill Park high school, Preocanin ended his varsity career by being named a CIS All-Canadian in 1992.
