During his four-year tenure as a Marauder men’s volleyball student-athlete, Peter Hrkal was a two-time OUA Champion, helping guide McMaster to back-to-back titles in 2008 and 2009. Named Team MVP as a freshman, Hrkal would capture the OUA’s Rookie of the Year Award in 2005 and go on to tear up the league as a four-time OUA All-Star. He was also twice recognized by the OUA as the conference’s nominee for Outstanding Student-Athlete on the national stage.

Hrkal helped represent McMaster well at the CIS level as well, as he was named nationwide Rookie of the Year in the 2004-05 season and landed on the CIS All-Rookie Team. He would lead the Marauders to a fourth-place finish at the CIS National Championship, the program's best finish at the time.
