Over the course of Paul's four years as a wrestler at McMaster University he was a CIAU Champion in '85 and placed 2nd in '84 and '87. He was also an OUA Champion in '85 and '87 and placed 2nd in '84. Paul was a member of the OUAA and CIAU Championship team in '85.
