In his 37 years as the head coach of the McMaster wrestling program, Nick Cipriano has made an impact on hundreds of student-athletes, and through his experiences, racked up a number of accolades. 

Cipirano was a five-time OUA Coach of the Year for the men's program and once the women's side. He was also a four-time honouree as National Coach of the Year at the CIS Championships. 

Coaching the men's program to McMaster’s first CIS National Wrestling Championship in 1984-85, Cipriano’s teams went on a dominant run and returned as National Champions once again in the 1993-94 season. Along the way, Cipriano’s teams picked up five OUA conference titles.

During his time at McMaster, Nick coached internationally as well, representing Canada at three Olympic Games: 1988 in Seoul, 1992 in Barcelona and the 1996 Games in Atlanta. He also led Canada at two PanAm games, one Commonwealth Games and the World Championships.
