Asked in 1978 to improve the struggling men's rugby program, Neil worked tirelessly to help his players be winners. And win they did! After Neil's first season, his teams never posted a losing record for the nine years he coached, with many players achieving all-star status. Mac's OUAA West titles in 1984-86 and 1986-7 earned Neil two OUAA Coach of the Year awards. Being a Professor of Kinesiology at Mac lets him stay in touch with the strong program he had launched.
