Marnie was the consummate all-round student-athlete. She was a four-time OWIAA Javelin Champion, a talented member of the Women's Basketball team, and a member of three OWIAA Track & Field and one OWIAA Soccer Championship Teams. Marnie was a Female Athlete of the Year Nominee in 1987, as well as the recipient of the MVC Award in Soccer for her outstanding efforts during McMaster's CIAU Silver medal performance in 1987. Even more noteworthy than her athletic abilities is her remarkable ability to share, to teach, and to instill her gift of sports, to others, as both a coach and an athlete.
