McMaster University Athletics

A former McMaster Student Union President, John played both football and basketball for the Marauders. He was an outstanding quarterback and led the team to the Atlantic Bowl and two OIFC Championships. He played football for McMaster from 1960-63 and was named an OIFC All-Star in 1963. During his 4 years on the football team the Marauders lost only 3 conference games. John also played one year of Junior Varsity Basketball for McMaster. John retired in 1996 after 31 years teaching with the Halton School Board and coached both football and basketball at the high school level. He is a board member with the Hamilton Association for Community Living and served 2 years as President. John is married to Sandra (Cowan '62) and has 2 children.
