If there was a sport to play at McMaster, Helen seemed to be ready and able. She excelled in basketball, swimming and track, snaring the coveted Edna Guest Award in 1937 for her outstanding athletic performance, Helen was also president of the Women's Athletic Council, and in her 'spare' time, managed both the varsity swim team and the field hockey team.
