On the swim team, George specialized in the 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m back, achieving gold and silver medals at the O.U.A.A. level and several medals at the C.I.A.U. level. George was named an All-Canadian from 1972-75. In water polo George led h is teammates to five O.U.A.A. Championships and four University Challenge Cups. George received the Ivor Wynne Trophy as male Athlete of the Year in 1974.
