Dave got off to a fast start as a member of the McMaster cross-country and track and field teams. He won OUAA gold in the 1500m and finished sixth in the CIAU 1500m Championships in 1990. In his second season, Dave received an OUAA All-star in cross-country. In 1992, he was second at the OUA cross-country championships and fifth at the CIAU championships where he earned a spot on the All-Canadian team. In his fourth season, Dave really kicked it into high gear, winning the OUAA cross-country championship and a fourth place finish at the CIAU championships. He also was the OUAA 1500m champion and received All-Canadian honors. In Dave’s final season he placed second in the OUAA cross-country championship, repeated as the OUA 1500m champion and was able to finish second at the 1500m CIAU championships, earning his third, All-Canadian award. Dave still holds two McMaster records in the 1500m and 3000m.
